Help Desk / Customer Service Representative  

A candidate must be a quick learner and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. They should possess excellent communication skills - both verbal and written. Proven superior customer service skills are requirement. Smooth phone manners and ability to perform well under pressure. Must have the ability to clearly articulate problems to the IT group or customers and formulate and maintain positive working relationships with peers.

Technically, the candidate should have 1-2 years of help desk work experience. Website support experience, good understanding on Internet technologies, web browsers, PC hardware, wireless technology, firewalls, system security, antivirus software. Understanding of Client/Server applications and relational databases is desired. As this role can grow into Email and backup administration, any additional relevant technical knowledge backed with appropriate certifications are also highly advantageous.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine system maintenance tasks under the direct supervision of the Senior System Administrator or the Director of IT.
  • Acts as a front-line interface to users, accepting trouble reports and dealing with them as appropriate.
  • Administers client Internet connectivity, LANs, desktop and portable units.
  • Maintains documents on network topology and asset management.
  • Assists with specifications for cabling, hardware and software purchase.
  • Assemble and configure hardware.
  • Install and configure operating system and application software.
  • Configure client and staff portables for remote access to corporate resources.
  • Works with vendors on warranty and other repairs.
  • Answers email and telephone inquires from clients and staff promptly and courteously.
  • Conducts small group and one-to-one training sessions on new software as requested.

The following would be an asset:
MCSE certification in windows 2000 or later technologies
Working experience with the Linux operating systems

Senior IT Consultant 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Advise customers on the procurement, design, installation and upgrade of IT infrastructure systems. Carrying out Infrastructure design and deployment. Install, configure, optimize, troubleshoot and support Microsoft Windows SBS, 2000 and 2003, Microsoft Exchange 2000 and 2003. Effectively troubleshoot infrastructure issues (for example performance bottlenecks, configuration faults). Assist in the development of all IT security policies and procedures, including those for end users, network procedures, and regulatory compliance. Produce accurate and informative technical documentation

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role;
  • At least one IT certification (i.e. MCSE, CCNA etc);
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows NT/2000/2003/XP, Active Directory, Exchange, clustering, WAN’s;
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail;
  • Project Management experience;
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
  • Effective / proven communication skills.

The following would be an asset:

Security expertise with substantial experience with Firewalls, and hold a CISSP and/or IDS/IDP Consultancy background
